I appreciate all the responses! Yeah, with a little exploratory surgery this morning, I found that a wire running to that kickstand kill switch wasn't connected completely. Fixing that solved everything. And taking the seat off was pretty easy anyway.
I like your idea about making the park position off as well David! I don't think leaving the lights on would prevent someone from plowing into it dead on the side of the road anyway. I certainly wouldn't trust cage drivers enough to leave it regardless.
